TSH provided concept design, site assessment, document production and construction phase administration for the Sutherland Residence Village student residence complex at Sir Sanford Fleming College, Peterborough Campus. The project accommodates 483 students in six, four-level buildings designed in a natural setting within a five minute walk of the main campus building.

Design was based on requirements from the Model National Energy Code. Environmental initiatives included locating buildings to retain an adjacent mixed hardwood woodlot and provision of a recycling centre.
Residence community facilities are available on the ground level of buildings, as are barrier-free suites. The resident assistant unit located in each building is linked to the security and fire safety systems that communicate with the residence office and the main campus building.

Recreation facilities include basketball and volleyball courts, barbecue pavilions, a fitness centre and billiards room. Residents also have access to on-site laundry facilities and resident life administration personnel.
