Synectics Inc., a TSH company, continues to pursue work in the US, and has recently been awarded several significant projects in their specialty area of road safety. 

Synectics continues to be recognized as a leader in the development of road safety practice and these assignments follow on a number of assignments the company is completing for the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration.

Synectics provides road safety-related services to clients who have a stake in the safety and security of road users.  These clients include all levels of government as well as private companies, in Canada and internationally. Recently, Synectics has been awarded several projects of interest in the US;

Client Transportation Research Board

Project: The National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Synthesis - Improving the Safety of Moving Lane Closures

Details: Synectics will develop guidelines regarding moving lane closures in construction zones, and this information will be published nationally in the US.

Client Safety Committee of New York Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO)

Project: Development of Road Safety Audit Procedures

Details: Synectics will provide a guideline for the completion of road safety audits for local governments across New York State.  Synectics is partnering with Bergmann Associates of Rochester NY on this project.

Client Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)

Project: Low Cost Road Safety Review Workshops

Details: As part of an ongoing retainer with the State, Synectics developed a short training course on how to complete low cost safety reviews.  The training was delivered more than 200 people at FDOT and local government, and the course content has been incorporated in the state-wide training roster .  To deliver the training effectively, Synectics partnered with the TBE Group of Tampa
