TSH was presented an Award of Excellence at the annual Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada (ACEC) competition. Every year, the ACEC holds a Canada wide competition to acknowledge outstanding engineering achievements. These prestigious awards are presented by ACEC in collaboration with Canadian Consulting Engineer magazine, and serve to recognize excellence in the engineering industry. TSH’s winning entry was the Conger Marsh Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The project dealt with complex and sensitive issues. In order to protect the local environment from failing septic systems in the Community of MacTier, the District Municipality of Muskoka elected to construct a wastewater treatment plant that would serve the projected 20 year population. The goal of the project was to develop a wastewater treatment plant which, in a socially responsible manner, protected the aquatic and terrestrial environment in which the plant is situated.

TSH was retained as the consulting engineer for the forcemain, wastewater treatment plant and outfall sewer. More details of the project can be seen here (PDF/5mb).
